Visit the Royal Botanical Garden. Created by the kings of Kandyan kingdom, this royal park was formally established in 1843. In 1912 it became the Royal Botanical Garden for the benefit of all Sri Lankans. Spread across 147 acres of land and protected by the Mahaweli river on one boundary, this is a major tourist attraction in the Central Province.
